The Atari Asteroids Recharged Deluxe, where 46 years of arcade legend meets a genuine commercial breakthrough. For the first time in the history of Asteroids, three players can pilot their ships simultaneously, competing for the high score in the same session, on the same cabinet, right now.
This cabinet is also available as another 2 Player Pro version or 2 Player Pro+ version.

Designed for family entertainment centers, destination arcades, bowling and entertainment complexes, and serious collectors with the space to match the ambition. This is the flagship of the Asteroids Recharged line, and the only model that earns from three players every single cycle.

About the Manufacturer Alan-1, Inc.
Alan-1 has been engineering licensed arcade cabinets from its factory in Tooele, Utah since 2017. The company works directly with IP holders including Atari to produce genuine, original arcade releases rather than licensed skins over generic hardware.

Alan-1's custom Video Arcade System and 400 i/oT input-output board are designed and built in-house, and every cabinet carries an ETL listing for the United States and Canada. Owning an Alan-1 machine means owning a piece of American arcade manufacturing at a moment when almost none of it is left.
The First Three-Player Asteroids Ever Made
Asteroids debuted in 1979. It spawned Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel, Blasteroids, and a 2021 console release. In none of those 46 years did three players ever shoot rocks at the same time. The Deluxe cabinet changes that.
Three players cooperate to survive each wave while simultaneously competing for their own individual scores. For a player, that tension between teamwork and rivalry is genuinely new. For an operator, it means three credits earned per cycle instead of one, and a machine that clears its own queue.

At an FEC or large arcade, this cabinet becomes a gathering point. People stop to watch. Groups challenge each other. The social energy around a three-player machine is a different proposition entirely from a solo cabinet tucked into a corner.
IAAPA 2024 Brass Ring Award: Best New Product

The Brass Ring Award is the amusement industry's top product honor, presented annually at IAAPA Expo. Asteroids Recharged won Best New Product in 2024, competing against the full field of new releases from every major manufacturer.

For an operator justifying a premium purchase to a general manager or ownership group, that credential carries real weight. It is independent, industry-sourced validation that this machine performs commercially, not just on a spec sheet.
It also matters at the floor level. Players who recognize the award branding on the cabinet arrive with higher expectations and are more likely to spend.
The 55-Inch Display and Cabinet Presence
The Deluxe runs a 55-inch high-definition display, framed by LED lighting around the monitor, the marquee, and the control panel. The vector-style graphics honor the original Asteroids aesthetic with modern clarity at a scale that reads across a busy game room floor.
At 51.5 inches wide and 81.5 inches tall, this cabinet commands attention. It was designed for larger locations that want a centerpiece, not a filler unit. The RGB LED T-molding runs the full perimeter and is programmable, adding to the visual presence without requiring separate installation work.
The width that makes this cabinet impressive also makes it the honest reason to choose the smaller 2-player Pro or Pro+ if floor space is limited. That decision is covered in the comparison section below.
Asteroids Recharged Arcade Edition: Built for the Arcade, Not Ported from Console
This is not a port of the 2021 Asteroids Recharged console release. Alan-1 rebuilt the game from the ground up for the arcade, working with both casual players and world-record classic Asteroids competitors to tune how shots behave, how UFOs attack, and how the game rewards skilled play.
The result is 256 waves of progressive challenge, including dedicated Challenge Waves with unique enemy configurations and situations not found in the standard rotation. Players choose their starting difficulty, Beginning, Advanced, or Expert, and the game scales accordingly. On Expert, the invincibility window on power-up pickup shrinks to almost nothing.
Here is some gameplay footage from World of Longplays:
Voice-overs are delivered by Captain Ace, who guides and comments on performance throughout. The original score was composed by Megan McDuffee, credited on Atari's own listing, and it is the kind of music detail that resonates with the enthusiast audience this machine attracts.
Power-Ups, Multipliers, and Secrets
Power-ups are earned by shooting the giant purple dome UFO that appears periodically throughout each run.
The full list includes Spreadburst, Tri-Burst, Bi-Way, Tri-Way, Exploding Bullets, Mega Laser, Orbiting Bullets, Slow Time, Rapid Fire, Trailing Bullets, and Deflector.
Players must fly to collect them rather than having them magnetized, which adds genuine skill to the acquisition.
Check out this official showcase video of the different power-ups available in-game:
Each power-up is timed, and the ship fills with a solid color that drains as the timer counts down, giving the player a clear read on how long they have left.
A bonus multiplier builds with each consecutive hit and resets on a miss, rewarding accuracy and creating the kind of risk-reward tension that keeps play times tight and coin drop rates high.
Mechanical Haptic Feedback: Wind, Rumble, and Knocker
The physical effects system includes wind fans that activate on thrust, two control panel rumble motors tied to in-game events, and an internal pinball-style cabinet knocker. LED lighting around the cabinet also reacts to on-screen action.
These effects are shared across the full Asteroids Recharged line, including the 2-player Pro and Pro+ cabinets. They are not a Deluxe exclusive. What the Deluxe brings is three sets of controls experiencing those effects simultaneously, which multiplies the sensory environment in a way a solo cabinet cannot replicate.
For an operator, the haptics serve a practical purpose beyond feel. A cabinet that physically reacts to gameplay is visible from across the room in a way a screen-only machine is not.
Check out this extensive review from the Electric Starship Arcade (keep in mind that the following video shows the 'Pro' version of the cabinet, but the haptic feedback is identical on the Deluxe):
Major League eSports: The Repeat Play Engine

Major League eSports (MLeS) is a free mobile app, available on Android and iOS, that players access by scanning the QR code shown on screen after pressing start. It logs scores, awards League Points toward the annual Alan-1 World Championships, and lets players continue from the last wave they reached on their previous credit.
The repeat play mechanism is the push notification. When another player beats a registered score, MLeS sends a notification to the displaced player's phone, naming the venue where it happened. That notification is a direct, personalized invitation to come back to that specific location and reclaim the top spot. No loyalty program, no separate marketing spend required.
There is no subscription fee for any of this. The internet connection runs over the cabinet's built-in WiFi or an Ethernet port. Software updates are delivered over the same connection, also free, for the life of the machine.
Alan-1 Game Grid: The Operator Command Layer
Game Grid is the separate free operator app, also on Android and iOS. Registering the cabinet through Game Grid is required both for internet connectivity and for warranty coverage. Registration is free and takes minutes.
Once registered, the operator gets remote technical alerts when a component stops responding, a full list of every MLeS player who has played that specific machine, and the ability to send those players direct messages including tournament announcements and custom promotions.
eTicket Redemption and Operator Configuration
Asteroids Recharged supports eTicket redemption through cashless card swipe readers. The operator can switch between high-score amusement mode and eTicket redemption mode via the settings panel inside the cabinet door. This makes the machine compatible with FEC floors running cashless redemption ecosystems.
Important: the cabinet does not ship with and does not support a physical ticket dispenser. Redemption is cashless eTicket only. Operators already running a cashless card system will integrate without modification. Those still on physical tickets will need to evaluate their setup before ordering.
Coin mechs ship preset to 25 cents per credit and pricing is fully adjustable through the settings panel, including free play mode for private collections or promotional nights.
The settings panel also controls number of lives, difficulty defaults, and access to the full operator audit suite covering play counts, average game time, continue rates, and detailed redemption analytics.

Commercial Durability and Serviceability

The Asteroids Recharged Deluxe is built in Tooele, Utah by Alan-1, using durable cabinet construction with printed vinyl wrap, RGB LED T-molding edging, and protective glass over the artwork.
Every connection runs through Alan-1's proprietary Video Arcade System (VAS) platform, which handles controls, lighting, and all peripheral communication on the custom 600 i/oT input-output board designed specifically for the 3-player configuration.

The two Suzo Happ coin doors are industry-standard units, keyed, and readily serviceable in the field. Coin mechs, buttons, and all internal components are accessible through the rear service door.

Deluxe vs. Pro and Pro+: Choosing the Right Cabinet for Your Location
The Asteroids Recharged line comes in three configurations. All three run the identical game with the same haptics package, the same 2.1-channel audio with subwoofer, the same MLeS connectivity, and the same eTicket redemption support. The choice between them is a floor space and throughput decision, not a feature decision.

Assembly
Assembling the Asteroids Recharged Deluxe requires no cabinet build. The machine ships fully assembled from Alan-1's factory in Tooele, Utah.
On delivery, the operator removes the shipping straps (a blade is needed), removes the crate, and rolls the cabinet on its factory-fitted castors into position. A small screwdriver is needed to access the internal settings panel for initial configuration. Two or more people are required for uncrating and positioning given the 525-pound installed weight.
Initial setup involves powering on the machine, configuring coin pricing, difficulty and redemption settings through the internal settings panel, and registering the cabinet through the Alan-1 Game Grid app. Registration must be completed within 15 days of delivery to activate full warranty coverage and is required for internet connectivity and software updates. For wired connectivity, a CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable is needed and is not included.
