Assembly

Putting together the Hathaway Challenger Shuffleboard Table is a straightforward process that most customers can complete in under an hour. On average, assembly takes about 45 minutes from start to finish.

Because of the table’s size and weight, it’s best to have two adults for the job. You’ll need one person to help position the cabinet and legs, and another to steady the playfield and assist when flipping the table upright after assembly. The main tool required is a Phillips head screwdriver, though an electric screwdriver set to low torque can make things easier.

General Assembly Steps

1. Unbox and organize the parts - Lay everything out on a clean, flat surface, and check against the included parts list to make sure nothing is missing.

2. Attach the legs - Secure each leg to the main cabinet using the included bolts, washers, and nuts. Keep all hardware slightly loose until all parts are in place, then tighten everything evenly.

3. Install the leg levelers - Screw in and adjust the 6-inch leg levelers to make sure the table sits flat on your floor.

4. Add finishing components - Attach the manual scoring units, corner caps, and handles.

5. Flip and level the table - Carefully turn the table upright (this step definitely requires two people) and use the levelers to ensure a perfectly balanced playing surface.

6. Fine-tune the playfield - If needed, adjust the climate adjusters under the table to ensure the playfield stays true and consistent, especially if your room’s humidity changes throughout the year.

Once assembled, your table is ready for play. Just apply the shuffleboard wax and start sliding!
