The Stern Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye Premium Pinball Machine! Where the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game meets precision-engineered pinball artistry. Released to mark 50 years of D&D, this machine drops you directly into the Forgotten Realms as a member of the Dragonshield Guild, fighting to stop the dragon queen Tiamat from rising and igniting the War of Dragons.
Designed for the D&D fan and serious pinball player who refuses to compromise, the Premium sits at the sweet spot between the Pro and the Limited Edition. It carries every mechanical upgrade that separates those two tiers from the Pro, without the LE's 740-unit cap on production. It is not a collectors' rarity. It is the machine you can actually get, and it is built to deliver the full Tyrant's Eye experience every time.
Stern Pinball: The Industry Leader
Stern Pinball is a leading name in the pinball industry, renowned for its innovative designs and high-quality machines.
Founded by Gary Stern, the company has a long-standing reputation for combining classic pinball gameplay with modern technology.
They are famous for their unique themes and collaborations with iconic franchises, delivering immersive experiences to fans and collectors alike.
Their commitment to craftsmanship and detail ensures that every machine is not just a game, but a work of art, making Stern a beloved brand among pinball enthusiasts worldwide.
Rath the Relentless: The Most Advanced Animatronic in Pinball
Rath the Relentless is a fully animatronic sculpted red dragon mounted above the playfield, and the single feature that most decisively separates the Premium from the Pro.

On the Pro, Rath moves vertically, detects hits, and lights up his eyes. On the Premium, he moves across multiple axes simultaneously, senses impact from any direction using omnidirectional impact sensing technology, and physically shoots live pinballs from his mouth during battle sequences. When his fire breath triggers, balls eject from the dragon's jaws and onto the playfield. The player-activated metal shield rises between the flippers to block the assault and redirect shots.
Rath is voiced by Michael Dorn, delivering lines that react to what is happening in your game. The combination of physical motion, directional impact detection, live ball ejection, and character voice performance puts this animatronic in a class of its own in the current pinball market.
The Dragon's Lair, Rising Dungeon, and Dragon Diverter
The Premium adds three interconnected mechanical features that the Pro does not include: the Dragon's Lair backlit cave sculpture, the Rising Dungeon ball capture, and the Dragon Diverter that feeds the ball to Rath.

Together they create a physical loop. The diverter routes the ball toward the dragon, the Rising Dungeon captures it and pulls it down into the murky depths for Dungeon Crawl mode, and the Dragon's Lair sets the scene with a fully backlit custom cave sculpture that transforms the upper playfield into a credible monster lair.
These three features are Premium and Limited Edition only. If you already own the Pro and are wondering what the upgrade actually changes in play, this mechanical sequence is the answer. It reshapes how Dungeon Crawl mode is entered and makes every dragon encounter feel physically consequential.
Translucent Gelatinous Cube Multiball
A translucent sculpted gelatinous cube sits on the playfield and physically traps a pinball mid-path, holding it suspended inside the cube until the conditions for Gelatinous Cube Multiball are met.

Full RGB lighting illuminates the ball inside the cube from below. The effect, a glowing pinball suspended inside a translucent monster, is one of the most visually striking single-feature moments in any current pinball machine. Locking the ball is a calculated decision, not an accident.
Playfield Depth: Every Shot Has a Purpose

The Tyrant's Eye Premium includes three flippers, three distinct multiball modes, a stainless steel Mountain Passage up/down ramp, a stainless steel Bridge center ramp for upper flipper shots, the Red Cave upper flipper loop, and a shortcut quick loop.
The Road to Town right ramp physically holds the ball so the player can choose their next action before releasing it.
The hidden temple shot behind the upper flipper unlocks double scoring. The narrow path magnet grabs the ball and delivers a controlled slow setup for the upper flipper.
The Critical Hit captive ball, the up/down post at the cave exit, and Tiny's Tavern's dice game of chance all add layers of decision-making that reward return sessions.
The Premium also includes 8 pinballs, versus 6 on the Pro. During Dragon Multiball and Gelatinous Cube Multiball, the difference in ball count on the playfield is tangible.
21 Campaign Modes, 100 Trinkets, and a Dungeon That Changes Every Week
The rules structure is the deepest long-form campaign ever built into a Stern machine. There are 21 story modes, including 9 wizard modes and a bonus round, with three distinct campaign endings that determine which of the 7 unlockable characters you access.
Start as a Paladin, Wizard, Cleric, or Rogue, then unlock the Ranger, Barbarian, or Bard by completing each of the three endings.
Collect from 100 trinkets that each grant unique buffs, and carry your inventory across sessions using PinSave. The Dungeon Crawl has 5 procedurally generated levels that reset every week with new character stats, trinket locations, treasure chest contents, dungeon layouts, and refreshed stock across all 7 Fizmo's stores.
Tournament mode removes all randomness and starts every player from the beginning on equal footing. Local cooperative play lets a full party of up to 4 players share progress through the campaign together.
Insider Connected and PinSave

Stern's Insider Connected platform is built into the machine, with a QR reader on the bottom arch for player account scanning. PinSave records character experience points, collected trinkets, and campaign progress to the cloud.
A player who starts a campaign at home can resume it on any other connected Tyrant's Eye machine anywhere in the world. For operators running the machine in a barcade or arcade, PinSave is a meaningful loyalty hook: players return specifically to continue their run on your machine. Those who prefer a traditional game start without saved progress and play a standalone session as normal.
Creative Talent Behind the Experience
The artwork across every surface of the Premium was hand-drawn by Vincent Proce, one of the most recognized illustrators working in official D&D publishing. The Premium backglass centers on Xanathar the beholder alongside key characters from the story, giving it a distinct look from the Pro's red dragon battle scene.
The soundtrack is an original orchestrated score composed by Cris Velasco, whose credits include major video game and film productions. The voice cast includes Michael Dorn, Kevin Smith, Luke Gygax, Chris Prynoski, Brendon Small, Gerard Way, Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Marisha Ray, Anthony Carboni, and Mica Burton. For players who have spent years listening to Critical Role, that cast list alone will land like a thunderclap.
Premium Build Finish

The Premium's bottom arch is powder-coated steel, replacing the Pro's plastic molded arch. The hand guard side armor, hinges, front lockdown molding, and legs all carry a powder-coated black wrinkle finish.

The result is a machine that reads as visually substantial from across a room. For operators, the steel arch and armor hold up under heavy daily use in ways that plastic does not. For home owners, the finish elevates the machine into a piece worth putting on display.
Coin-Op Ready for Barcade and Arcade Operators
Every Tyrant's Eye Premium ships configurable for either coin-op or free play, making it equally at home in a private game room or a commercial venue. The machine's campaign structure and PinSave system are genuine differentiators for operators: players come back to finish what they started, which drives repeat plays rather than one-and-done sessions.

Assembly
Assembling the Stern Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant's Eye Premium is a straightforward process that typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes once the machine is in position.
The backbox is already attached and ships folded down under strapping, so there is no wiring harness to connect. You raise it into position, taking care not to pinch the cables, and secure it with the two backbox bolts from the cash box.
The legs bolt on using the eight bolts already fitted to the cabinet, four at the front and four at the rear. The pinballs, the plumb bob for the tilt mechanism and the backbox bolts are all inside the cash box behind the coin door, which is where people tend to look last.
You will need a 5/8 inch socket wrench, a utility knife and a pair of snips, none of which ship with the machine. Stern requires at least two people to move and position the cabinet safely. A printed operations and service manual is included and covers the full sequence. If you have any questions about delivery, positioning or setup, please call us at 855-924-4457 and our team will walk you through it.
