What size billiards table should I choose for my space?
The most common home sizes are 7-foot and 8-foot tables, while 9-foot tables are typically chosen by more serious players with larger rooms. The right size depends on both the table and the cue clearance around it. As a general rule, you should allow at least 5 feet of space on all sides of the table for comfortable play.
In the following table you can see the playfield sizes for each size option and also the minimum space you need in your room depending on the size of the table the the length of your cues.

Are Connelly billiards tables made from solid wood?
Yes. Connelly Billiards tables are built using solid wood components and hardwood cabinetry, depending on the collection. This construction improves durability, stability, and long term appearance compared to lightweight or MDF-based tables.
Do all tables use slate playing surfaces?
Yes. All Connelly billiards tables feature a precision-cut slate playing surface. Slate provides a flat, stable foundation that ensures consistent ball roll and long-lasting play quality, which is essential for every type of player.
What is the difference between the Competition Collection and the furniture-style collections?
The Competition Collection is designed with performance as the top priority, focusing on stability, accurate rebound, and tournament play. For this reason they tend to have less customization options.
Furniture-style collections emphasize design and craftsmanship while still delivering reliable play, making them better suited for living spaces where appearance is just as important as performance.
How much can these Tables be customized?
Connelly Billiards offer a vary wide range of customization options based on the table you choose. Certain tables are somewhat more customizable than others. The primary components for which a lot of choices are available are:
Wood Type:
The wood from which your table will be constructed (Main options are Maple or Red Oak but other premium wood options are also available for certain tables). Each wood type offers a wide range of stain colors.
Cloth Type:

All Connelly billiard tables include Championship Invitational Cloth with Teflon at no extra cost. Invitational is a hybrid cloth, meaning it blends wool and synthetic fibers to offer a balanced mix of durability, easy maintenance, and consistent play.

For players looking for a faster, more precise playing surface, worsted cloths are available as an upgrade. Worsted cloths use tightly twisted yarns that are woven smooth, resulting in less friction, faster ball roll, and a truer, more tournament-style response. Worsted cloths are commonly chosen by experienced players or anyone who prefers a quicker table, more focused on performance.

Of course, the cloth color is also very customizable.

How much maintenance does a Connelly billiards table require?
Maintenance is minimal. Regular brushing of the cloth, keeping the table covered when not in use, and avoiding spills will help preserve both play quality and appearance. With proper care, the table will perform well for many years.
