About Alan-1

Alan-1, Inc. has been building arcade machines by hand in the United States since 2017. Every cabinet leaves their Area 52 factory in Tooele, Utah, constructed to commercial-grade standards and backed by domestic manufacturing.

alan 1 logo

What sets Alan-1 apart is the combination of American craftsmanship, cutting-edge optical engineering, and a commitment to connected competitive play through their own MLeS platform. Owning an Alan-1 cabinet means owning something built to last in the hardest-working environments the arcade industry puts in front of machines.

Gravity as the Enemy: Gameplay Unlike Anything Else on the Floor

Gravitar Recharged puts two players in tethered starfighters, flying together through a named solar system of alien worlds where gravity pulls at the ship the entire time. Choose a planet from the zoomed-out system view, complete an objective, destroy the reactor, and push toward home.

That tethered two-player mechanic is borrowed from Atari's Space Duel and is genuinely rare in a modern arcade game. The two ships are joined together, so coordination is not optional. The dynamic forces strangers to communicate and keeps pairs at the machine longer than a standard competitive title.

Galaxies are named on screen with their real distance from Earth: fly to the Black Eye Galaxy, 17 million light-years out. Fuel canisters must be collected while gravity fights the ship, and the Shield and Tractor Beam button does double duty, pulling in items and blocking incoming fire at the same time.

MLeS Integration: The Repeat-Play Engine Operators Need

MLES Shield RGB rev logo

Major League eSports integration is included on every cabinet at no additional charge and connects automatically once the machine is online. Players reach global leaderboards, daily competitive tournaments, personal achievements and rankings, and automatic eligibility for Alan-1's annual MLeS World Championships, all through normal play.

Players download the free MLeS app, create an Alan-1 account, and begin accumulating league points from the first credit. They can form teams, challenge friends, and track progress between visits, which is what turns a one-time player into a regular. Championship tournaments carry prizes for top performers.

Connecting the cabinet is free, wired Ethernet or WiFi, with no online subscription and no ongoing fees. Operators who expect to pay a monthly platform cost will not find one here. The machine stays relevant long after installation because the competitive layer refreshes daily.

Physical Effects Package: Wind, Rumble, and Knocker

The Pro+ carries the full physical effects suite: wind blowers that activate during thrust, two rumble motors, and a cabinet knocker. Together they turn every maneuver and impact into something the player feels, not just sees and hears.

Wind feedback fires each time the thruster engages, so the ship's movement registers physically. The two rumble motors react to hits and game events, and the cabinet knocker delivers sharp tactile punctuation at key moments. Players who have tried a standard cabinet and then play the Pro+ notice the difference immediately.

The base Pro tier carries the wind effects only. The rumble motors and the knocker are exclusive to the Pro+, and they are a large part of what justifies the step up for operators who want the most immersive version of the game on the floor.

RGB LED T-Molding: Earns Attention Before a Single Credit Is Played

RGB LED T-molding runs the full perimeter of the cabinet and is what works on a customer from across the room, before they have read the marquee or watched a single moment of attract mode. Alan-1 calls it an enhanced lighting package, and on a busy floor it earns its place immediately.

The lighting is fully color-capable and gives the machine a visual presence that a standard cabinet edge cannot match. Under bar lighting or in a dim FEC environment, the T-molding makes the Pro+ the machine people walk toward first.

PRO+ Art Package by Alejandro Radio

The Pro+ carries its own exclusive cabinet artwork, hand drawn by Alan-1 studio artist Alejandro Radio. It is a distinct design from the artwork on the Pro tier, created specifically for this model and not used on any other machine in the range.

Hand-drawn cabinet art gives the Pro+ a visual character that printed or digitally generated artwork cannot replicate at close range. On a floor where most cabinets share generic styling, original illustrated artwork is a detail that collectors and enthusiastic players notice and respond to.

32-Inch 1080p Display with Restored Vector Aesthetics

The display is a 32-inch, 1080p high-definition panel in landscape orientation. Alan-1 restored the green vector-style outlines on the rocks and terrain, giving the recharged visuals a clear visual link to the original 1982 game while running at full HD resolution.

New zooming effects pull the view out to the full solar system and back in to individual planets, and these transitions are a significant part of what makes the game feel different from anything else currently on an arcade floor.

Original Five-Button Control Layout, LED Backlit

Each player station replicates the exact five-button layout of the 1982 Gravitar arcade original: Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Thrust, Fire, and a combined Shield and Tractor Beam button. Every button is backlit by LEDs.

Atari Gravitar Recharged Pro+ 2 Player Arcade Cabinet, close-up of the two player control panel and the backlit PILOT 01 station.

Keeping the original control scheme means the game is immediately familiar to anyone who played the 1982 cabinet, while the Tractor Beam function adds a layer of mechanical depth that new players discover over repeated sessions. No joystick is used. The five buttons are the whole interface, which keeps the control panel clean and accessible.

Atari Gravitar Recharged Pro+ 2 Player Arcade Cabinet, close-up of PILOT 02 station: backlit ROTATE, SHIELD/TRACTOR, THRUST, FIRE buttons.

2.1 Channel Amplified Stereo Audio

The cabinet runs a 2.1 channel amplified stereo audio system with new voice overs and updated game sounds recorded specifically for the recharged arcade edition. Sound design fills the area around the cabinet rather than staying contained at the panel.

Strong cabinet audio matters in busy environments where the machine must project above ambient room noise to draw players in from a distance. The 2.1 configuration, with its dedicated bass channel, gives the engine thrust and explosion sounds the low-end weight they need to feel physically present.

Coin, Card, and Free Play: Operator Flexibility Built In

The machine ships with a standard two-slot coin door, coin mechs preset to 25 cents with a default of four coins per credit. Both figures are fully adjustable from the operator menu, and free play is selectable for home installations or promotional periods.

Card swipe payment is supported via a UCL-standard connector, one per player station, supplying power, ground, credit and ticket signals. The UCL standard is compatible with modern cashless card systems without requiring a specific brand. Coin-op, cashless, and free play can all be configured independently, giving an operator the full range of monetization options on one machine.

Commercial-Grade Build: Made in the USA, 29.25-Inch Depth

The cabinet is constructed on a heavy-gauge steel frame with tempered glass and commercial-quality materials throughout, built at Alan-1's factory in Tooele, Utah. Every machine is designed to run continuously in high-traffic venues without compromising on presentation.

The installed depth of 29.25 inches is worth noting for real-world placement. At that depth, the cabinet rolls through a standard double doorway without removal of any panels, which matters on routes and in venues where getting a machine onto the floor is its own logistical challenge.

Assembly

Assembling the Atari Gravitar Recharged Pro+ is a minimal process. The cabinet ships fully assembled by freight, so there is no major build required on arrival.

Placement, leveling, and connecting power and internet are the primary tasks. Before powering the machine on for the first time, check the red voltage slider at the base of the cabinet and confirm it is set to the correct voltage for your country. Setting it incorrectly before first power-up can damage the machine.

For wired internet connectivity, buyers will need to supply their own Ethernet cable. WiFi connection requires no additional hardware. For venues with specific placement or freight delivery requirements, contact your Alan-1 distributor before ordering to confirm delivery and installation details.

Free Shipping

Your Alan-1 arcade machine ships with free curbside freight delivery to the 48 contiguous United States, with no hidden charges added at checkout.

Machines travel as LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight, crated on a pallet, with lift-gate service included. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery appointment, so you will not be caught out. Delivery is to the curb, and you take it from there.

Plan Your Access Before You Order

Alan-1 cabinets are large commercial machines, and the bigger models will not fit through a standard single doorway. Measure your delivery route before ordering, including door widths, corridor turns and ceiling height. Some cabinets stand over eight feet tall once assembled.

We recommend at least two people, and sometimes 4 people to uncrate and position a standard upright, and four people for the larger redemption cabinets. Several models also arrive with the header and marquee detached, which are fitted on site.

White Glove Delivery

White Glove Delivery is available as a paid upgrade at checkout. A professional team brings the machine into your room of choice, assembles it and leaves it ready to play. On the larger cabinets this is worth serious consideration.

Why Buy From Us

Here's why buying your Alan-1 arcade machine from us is the right move:

  • Free Shipping: Free curbside freight delivery with lift-gate service to the 48 contiguous states, with no hidden charges.
  • No Sales Tax: We do not charge sales tax in most states, which is a genuine saving on a machine at this price point.
  • Manufacturer-Backed Warranty: Every new Alan-1 machine carries the Alan-1 Limited Warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, and we guide you through any claim.
  • Warranty and Parts Assistance: We coordinate directly with Alan-1 on your behalf for warranty service and replacement parts, so you are not left chasing a manufacturer alone.
  • Price Match Guarantee: Find the same machine for less and we will match it, one hundred percent.
  • Expert Guidance: These are commercial machines with real installation requirements. We help you choose the right configuration for your space before you commit.
Warranty

All new Alan-1 arcade machines purchased through our store are covered by the Alan-1 Limited Warranty, which runs for 90 days from the date of delivery.

Warranty Coverage

Alan-1 warrants the machine free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal, intended use. Coverage includes the cabinet body, control deck, wiring harnesses, power supply, Alan-1 supplied PCB and logic boards, Alan-1 installed buttons and joysticks, and the internal speakers.

Alan-1 will repair the unit, replace it with new or refurbished parts, or refund the purchase price less shipping, at their option. Warranty service is parts and bench only. On-site service, technician travel, and removal or reinstallation of the machine are not covered.

Register Your Machine Within 15 Days

This one matters. Alan-1 requires the cabinet to be registered through the free Alan-1 Operators app within 15 days of receipt to receive full warranty coverage. Registration is free, takes a few minutes, and also connects the machine to the internet for software updates. Do this as soon as your machine arrives.

Dead on Arrival

If a machine fails to power on or arrives non-functional, it must be reported within 15 calendar days of delivery with photographs and a description of the fault. On a confirmed DOA, Alan-1 covers two-way shipping within the continental United States.

What's Not Covered

  • Wear and consumable items, including bulbs, LEDs, fuses, T-molding scuffs and artwork scratches
  • Labour for installation or on-site service, and technician travel
  • Improper installation or setup, including incorrect wiring, over-voltage, ungrounded outlets or non-approved power strips
  • Modifications, third-party firmware, or non-Alan-1 parts. Modifying the i/oT board or any Video Arcade System component voids the warranty
  • Misuse, abuse and neglect, including liquid ingress, impacts, outdoor exposure and extreme temperatures
  • Shipping damage after delivery, and transit damage not noted at the point of delivery
  • Network or connectivity issues, and any claim for lost operator revenue

Inspect Before You Sign

Alan-1 is emphatic on this point: if the cabinet arrives damaged, do not sign for it. Signing transfers responsibility for the repair costs to you. Note any damage on the driver's paperwork, photograph it, and contact us immediately. Concealed damage must be reported within 48 hours with photographs, and the original packaging kept.

How to Request Warranty Service

Contact our Customer Service Team first. We help troubleshoot the fault and open a claim with Alan-1 on your behalf. Claims require the order number, product name, serial number and delivery date, along with photographs or video of the defect. Alan-1 may provide remote troubleshooting, and where service is approved they issue an RMA with packing instructions.

Our Commitment

We act as your connection with Alan-1. If something goes wrong, you deal with us and we handle the manufacturer, so the problem gets resolved as quickly as possible.

Returns

Alan-1 machines may be returned within 30 calendar days of delivery, subject to the conditions below. Because these are large freight items, please read this carefully before ordering.

Before You Return Anything

An RMA must be obtained before shipping anything back. Contact our Customer Service Team and we will arrange it. Returns must be shipped within 15 days of the RMA being issued, and the machine must be in new or like-new condition with all accessories, cables, manuals and the original packaging.

Restocking Fees Apply

A restocking fee of 15 percent of the item price typically applies, rising to 25 percent for opened electronics that remain sellable after inspection. Missing or damaged accessories are deducted at replacement cost, and original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Items That Cannot Be Returned

  • Custom or made-to-order cabinets, special finishes, personalised graphics and vinyls
  • Opened electronic boards or items with broken seals, except a verified DOA within 15 days
  • Software and digital licences
  • Clearance and "as-is" final sale items
  • Anything damaged by improper installation, misuse or modification

Freight Returns

For a cabinet return you are responsible for proper palletising and packaging to prevent transit damage, and the freight must be insured for the full value. Risk of loss stays with you until the machine is received and inspected. Mark the RMA number clearly on the outside of the pallet and use a trackable, insured carrier.

If We Got It Wrong

If a machine arrives dead on arrival or we shipped the wrong item, contact us within 15 days. In those cases return shipping and reshipment are covered within the continental United States, with no restocking fee.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days of inspection. Your bank or card processor may take additional time to post the credit.

Our Commitment

Your satisfaction is our priority. If something is not right, talk to us before starting a return. In most cases a replacement part or a warranty claim solves the problem faster and at no cost to you.
